What a welcome from Beaworthy Flower Club on a miserable evening, weather wise. It was a capacity audience after many more chairs were provided to accommodate them. Wow what a supper waited us after. There will be an update when they have counted the pennies and let us know how much was raised on the night? […]
This is only seven days away and is our last concert before the choir’s Tour to Wells in just 3 weeks time. That starts with a lunchtime concert at Mint Methodist Church in Exeter starting 12noon on the 8th March.
Update on the Tregadillett concert in that the net total aided was £297, and the Church also made a donation of £50 to the soloist – Charlotte Lancaster towards her Girl Guides trip to Norway/Sweden this coming summer.
It was a lovely evening concert with challenging acoustics but as usual we coped and just sang louder and better. Up to the challenge? Yes. Many thanks to Charlotte Lancaster our guest soloist who played some beautiful pieces. Below are a couple of photographs taken by Sue Vernon, who we thank.
Firstly we have Tregadillett concert on Saturday at 7.00pm which will be our first concert of 2024. (See previous post) Then Sunday afternoon at 2.30pm there is the Mayors Annual Civic Service in St. Marys Magdalene Church where we are singing 2 or 3 Cornish songs. The town band is also there so it is likely […]
We are looking forward to this, our first concert of 2024 with great anticipation as we are always so warmly welcomed here. The soloist is Charlotte Lancaster, a young cellist who will be doing 2 periods between sets. We look forward to welcoming her and listening to her play. Come and relax at an evening […]
One of the real pleasures of being a choir is that on occasions we can present to charities the proceeds that result from our singing! Last evening (17/01/2024) we had the real pleasure of presenting a cheque to Karen Lang for £700 to go to Motor Neurons Disease. This is a charity close to our […]
Looks like it is going to be a very busy 2024 for the choir starting with a concert at Tregadillett on Feb 3rd and finishing with the usual Christmas singing in the care homes and hospital in December, with 8 or 9 concerts booked in between! Not forgetting of course […]
A very warm welcome greeted us at St. James Church for the concert with Torpoint Ladies Choir on Saturday 1st July 2023. The acoustics within the church for singing were outstanding! The evening of song was for the ShelterBox charity and raised £544 on the day with a raffle and retiring buckets. Finally thank you […]
A very successful concert raising over £1,100 for Alzheimer’s Charity. A few Photos taken by Monique Hedger.
